Reckoning with Oneself

News

There comes a time when we each must face things about ourselves that we have been running from.

A Time of Decision: Will I admit this or keep postponing actual change in my life?

I picked up a copy of Suze Orman’s “Women & Money” yesterday at my local library, as I have been contemplating some of my limiting beliefs around money for about a year.

The top two?

  • Women can’t make it alone; can’t make it alone. Unmarried women can never make it alone.
  • I have absolutely zero sense when it comes to money: how to make, keep, or invest it.

As I read this morning, I was inspired to bare my soul to another of the absolute truth of where I am financially; there is something freeing in full disclosure.

It is incredibly intimate due to the vulnerability shared and flings open avenues which may not have been had we not done so.

Magic happens when we have zero idea where something will lead.

There is a risk in admitting parts of ourselves we’d rather hide. Yet, we must always remind ourselves that this is about freedom, not fear. Others always have a choice, as we do.

The only true living is when looking in the mirror and accepting fully who we are, knowing that “worth” is defined within.
