There are so many things in our lives we “want to know,” we want to be sure of.
Why do we stress over circumstances rather than let them unfold naturally?
A theme keeps coming up for me today: nonresistance.
David Bayer says it in his podcast: “Desire + Nonresistance = Desired Result,” and I read it in Michael Singer’s “Living Untethered.”
The truth is, living without knowing is actually exciting! It allows mystery in life, a circuitous route I may not have taken. It’s like changing up the same roads you travel to-and-fro daily or adding different ingredients to a recipe.
Life is smiling at us, asking we release and trust. Holding out her hands, spreading the banquet.
I can either feign control or decide to go all in.
On a personal note, I ask myself why it is I want “certainty” in a relationship, romantically. When I grip and grasp, with a desired outcome, all joy is removed. Spontaneity fades.
It is good to desire, for that is where our dreams become fertile. Yet, if seed is put in sod which is either stomped to so-called safety or overwatered, nothing nourishing comes of it.
May today be the day we begin to loosen the hold certitude has clutched us with.
